About Mom’s House Residential Assisted Living
Choosing assisted living for someone you love is never just a practical decision. It’s personal. It comes with big emotions, tough conversations, and a deep desire to make sure your family member is safe, respected, and truly cared for. At Mom’s House Residential Assisted Living, we understand that completely, because this home was created out of that same kind of love and purpose.
We’re here to help seniors experience safe, supportive living in Grosse Ile, MI, in a setting that feels warm, calm, and genuinely home-like. Our promise is simple: we provide compassionate, personalized care so you can have peace of mind knowing your loved one is supported every day.

Our Story: How Mom’s House Came to Be
Mom’s House isn’t a large facility, and it wasn’t built to feel like one. It’s a 6-bed residential home designed for dignity, comfort, and family-style living. We created this space because we saw the need for something different in our community. Something more personal. Something where seniors receive real attention, not rushed care.
Our owner, Sarah Vasquez, brings years of nursing experience to everything we do. Her background in caring for seniors and supporting families through difficult transitions helped shape the heart of Mom’s House. Our care philosophy is rooted in skill, compassion, and respect. Since opening, we’ve remained intentionally small.
As of 2025
We’ve cared for 4 residents, and that number matters because it reflects what we believe in:
individualized care, consistent support, and an environment where every resident is truly known.
A True Home in One of Michigan’s Most Peaceful Communities
Grosse Ile is special. With its quiet neighborhoods, water views, and slower pace, it offers the kind of calm that many seniors need, especially during life transitions. This isn’t the rush of a big city, and it isn’t an impersonal setting. It’s a place where peace and comfort can still be part of daily living.
Mom’s House fits naturally into that environment. Our home is designed to feel inviting, bright, and dignified, with a comfortable layout that supports both relaxation and connection. During Michigan winters, when the days can feel long and the cold sets in, our warm atmosphere and consistent routine help residents feel grounded. And in spring and summer, when the island comes alive with fresh air and sunlight, our residents enjoy a home that feels open and uplifting.
Our Promise to Families
At Mom’s House Residential Assisted Living, we promise to treat every resident with the same level of care and dignity we would want for our own loved ones.
We know that families want more than “basic supervision.” You want to know your parent or loved one is:
- Safe and supported at all times
- Treated with kindness and patience
- Living in a clean, comfortable environment
- Surrounded by caregivers who truly care
- Encouraged to enjoy their day, not just get through it
That’s what we focus on every day, and we take that responsibility seriously.
What Makes Our Care Personal
Because we are a small home with a limited number of beds, we are able to provide a more personalized experience. We know our residents, and we know what helps them feel comfortable. Our care supports the whole person, including:
Physical Support
We provide daily assistance and supervision to help residents stay safe and comfortable in their routines.
Emotional Support
Companionship, conversation, and a calming presence make a real difference in quality of life. Our home is built around connection.
Family-Style Living
Meals, activities, and shared spaces feel like home, not a schedule-driven facility environment.
Skilled Caregivers
We are proud to have experienced caregivers who are patient, attentive, and committed to doing this work with heart.
A Legacy of Care That Means Something
One of the most meaningful parts of Mom’s House is the story behind it. In December of 2025, a family member named Janet Rapin shared a review that still touches everyone who reads it. She described how Sarah cared for her husband and how that care created a lasting bond.
Janet also shared that when her parents’ home was going to be sold, her family wanted Sarah to honor them by caring for others inside the home her parents built. She explained that they believed her parents would be happy knowing the house is now used to support seniors, and that it carries the name Mom’s House because that’s what their family always called it.
That kind of story isn’t something you can manufacture. It’s a reflection of trust, compassion, and the belief that care should be deeply human. We’re honored to carry that legacy forward and to continue caring for seniors in a home that was built with love and purpose.
Who We Serve
We welcome seniors who need daily support in a safe, structured environment. Our home is ideal for individuals who benefit from a smaller setting, consistent routines, and kind companionship. Because we have limited space, availability may be tight at times, but that same small size is what allows us to provide such attentive care. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one won’t get lost in the crowd, we may be the right fit.
Visiting and Scheduling a Tour
Most families begin by reaching out to schedule a tour. We’re happy to show you around, answer questions, and help you understand what day-to-day life looks like here. We believe the decision should feel informed and calm, not rushed or pressured.
When you walk through our home, we want you to feel what makes it different: a peaceful environment, a caring team, and a place that truly feels like home.
